There are MANY reasons why people meal prep ahead of time. The convenience of spending that time in one day to have easy meals at the go is probably at the top... especially if you're not a...

      THe avacado oil wasn't that expensive I think it was between $5 and $10 for it. Organic Mac N Cheese was .88 a box. Cheese was $1.69 a block. It just adds up :(

    Good morning my beautiful friend ♥I love Aldi's except that it is not close to use so we only go there when he has an appt. That usually happens on like the last day or two of their sale and a lot of the things I want are gone. On the other hand it saves me money lol! Do you look at their sales online before you go? I also love their fruit and produce. They have the cheapest milk and creamer as well. I usually get my heavy whipping cream at Walmart because I like to get the 1/2 gallon size. I always go for like 5 or 6 things and come out with many more. Love their extras like cheap chips that I have never tried before. We got some corn tortilla chips there awhile ago and they had the best flavor and texture! And I want to say I got them for like $1.19 Considering the prices these days I think you got some good deals. I need to get some salad green of some sort. We went to the grocery Saturday but I took a hard pass because of the prices! We did get a package of the frozen Canadian bacon slices that I like to have on hand for homemade pizzas. We had just ran out and I was lucky to get some again for $1 each. I bought two. I also got a dolly pardon banana cake mix marked down to $1. I think I will try to cut it in half and make a smaller version of a poke cake using either banana or vanilla pudding. Its just the two of use so we do not need a whole cake lol!

    Sadly it doesn’t take long to spend $100 anymore. I bought milk, OJ(on clearance), whipped cream(on sale), small box of 15 trash bags, 2 cartons of grape tomatoes, bananas, 1 Angel food loaf and 6 lg cans of AZ tea(on sale for $0.88/ea) and it was $50 yesterday! Just a few things to fill in until the first when my husband gets his check.

    I do the same thing, I go to the store come home and then think what did I buy that would cost that much? I am cautious and Shop sales. Tonight I made spaghetti. I made my own sauce with tomato paste, Italian seasoning and other seasonings, making my own sauce yielded double what one jar would have. I put the excess in a glass jar and FrozE it so we have sauce for another meal.. my son said it tasted much better than any jar too😄

Today it is suppose to be 82 with thunder and rain! The chickens are doing fabulous aside from Tina turning into Tom lol. But, it is okay because we will just get an incubator and add to the flock. Quiche sounds yummy, I need to make my bacon/spinach quiche. Cinnamon sounds like it would taste good in your peach muffins😋 It has been in the triple digits here. I refuse to turn on the oven in this heat. I have a turkey roaster that is just like a portable oven, just plug it in and turn it to the temperature you would your oven. I put mine in my garage on top of the washer so we don't get extra heat. When my husband was alive we were blessed through a grant to have solar put on our house so, using electric is better than using our gas stove also. I had leftover mashed potatoes from the weekend so I made a shepherd's pie in my roaster oven.

    Wow Challice you got a lot done. We have been busy a little bit here the last few days. We had an issue with a predator so we had to get busy! We set the chicken coop up months ago and since then I had decided I no longer wanted it there. Meanwhile the wild flowers etc. grew up around it lol! When we were finally able to bring the girls outside we had them in a extra large dog kennel (one for a extra large breed like a Saint Bernard) I think it was a racoon but I am not sure. Our dog heard the chickens and woke us up and scared it off but it was able to reach into the kennel and grab the girls feathers but nothing else. So we cleared the space and moved the big coop into place and removed the temporary kennel they were in! They are really happy in the new coop! We have tons of wood pieces all over our property and we are trying to repurpose it! Hubby has been making me compost boxes to put twigs and the stuff I remove from our property to clear spaces! And also raised beds for some of our veggies! I think I have everything planted now in its seasonal spot. They were in the greenhouse! We also dug up a bunch of dirt and sifted the rocks out then mixed it with some potting soil to fill the raised beds. Hubby is now out of the boot and wearing a shoe. So he is back to working on the she-shed. And yesterday at 4 am the dog woke us to go outside! a minute later I smelled this awful scent! He got skunked!!! It was so awful! The sun was just barely coming up and I had to get the lantern! The poor dog was hit in his face but luckily because he is so tall it missed his eyes! He was foaming at the mouth and looked like he was rabid! I ran into the house and googled of course. I now almost feel like an expert! I used a turkey baster to help rinse out his mouth. Mixed together 3 parts peroxide, 1 part baking soda, and about a tsp of dish soap. I applied it to the stinky spots! Let it set for awhile to neutralize the smell then rinsed. after he dried off I waited a bit then repeated the process! The stinky dog is no longer stinky! As for the house Google said to put vinegar into a cup and place in all the rooms. The odor is also gone in the house! I didn't have to make any bread this week because we went to the food pantry on Thursday and they had Panera bread! I got 4 loaves and 2 focaccia round loaves. It is so yummy! We had your famous egg roll in a bowl last night that was left over from Saturday! Thank you for sharing! Stay blessed!

    • @SodbusterLiving
      @SodbusterLiving 4 дні тому

      Wow! Skunk smell is THE WORST. What's funny is I thought we had some bad skunks in our trailer park and my son informed me that its the kind of human skunk smell.... meaning someone is smoking something. :O So... yeah. I hate that smell so much. Hopefully your chickens will be left alone. So glad hubby is healing well! That's a relief.
